Graphic Novel Κατάνγκα

Katanga is a captivating political thriller that delves into the French colonial actions of the 20th century. The screenplay is penned by Fabien Nury, renowned for his work "The Death of Stalin," while the illustrations are by Sylvain Vallée, creator of "Tananarive."

The story unfolds in the Congo of 1960, when, after eighty years of Belgian colonization, the country declares its independence. Just a few weeks later, the Katanga region secedes, leading to a war with the Congo over control of the mineral-rich lands. Central to the narrative is Charlie, a servant in possession of diamonds valued at 30 million dollars, making him the most wanted man in Katanga.

The work realistically portrays the violence and corruption of the era, addressing themes such as racism and imperialism. The Greek edition compiles all three French albums of the series, offering readers a comprehensive experience.

With 204 pages and dimensions of 21x28 cm, Katanga was released in July 2026 by Mikros Iros Publications.
