Modelling Brushes

To choose the right brushes for modeling, you should consider the item you want to paint. Depending on the result you want to achieve, you should select the appropriate brushes. For example, to paint a miniature with a lot of detail, you should choose a brush with a very fine tip, and for larger areas, you should choose a larger brush.

Modeling synthetic brushes usually have stiffer bristles and are ideal for fine details. Synthetic brushes absorb less paint compared to natural hair brushes. Natural hair brushes are better for techniques like glazing and washes, and the blending of colors is smoother. Synthetic brushes are more durable than natural hair brushes.

Regardless of the type of brush you choose, you should clean, dry, and place the plastic cap on them after each use to maintain them better!

To clean your brushes, first rinse them with cold or lukewarm water. Then, use the soap of your choice for brushes and rinse with cold or lukewarm water.

Do not use hot water on your brushes, as it will weaken the glue that holds the bristles together, and your brush will have a much shorter lifespan. Also, it is very important when painting your miniatures to avoid the paint coming into contact with the part of the brush where the bristles are attached.
