Undertaker #1 - Ο Χρυσοφάγος

The new Franco-Belgian comic series by Xavier Dorison and Ralph Meyer, Undertaker, brings readers a clean and tough western, in the tradition of Blueberry! It is the story of Jonas Crow, an undertaker in post-Civil War America at the end of the 19th century. In a world full of lawlessness, where the more people die, the more work for him.

In the first chapter of the series, titled The Gold Eater, Jonas Crow undertakes to transport the coffin of a millionaire miner, Joe Cusco, who swallowed his gold while taking it to his grave. When the secret is revealed, it provokes the wrath of the miners of Anoki City. Because how can they let such a fortune be buried, while to survive, they sweat blood and water in the mines? And so a funeral that should have flowed peacefully ends up taking the form of a statement: that the West is Wild and always shows its teeth.

Meyer's drawings dress up a comic book that is pure eye candy, with Dorison delivering a captivating story, with dialogues that always find the target – always accompanied by a touch of (black) humor. In short: a classic western that has rightfully entered the pantheon of Franco-Belgian comics – and it is finally coming to our country!
