Harvest Dice

Harvest Dice is a fast-paced, engaging dice game where players take on the role of farmers aiming to cultivate the most prosperous garden. Designed by Danny Devine and published by Grey Fox Games, it accommodates 2 to 4 players aged 8 and above, with each game session lasting approximately 15 to 30 minutes.

Key Features:

• Thematic Gameplay: Players draft dice representing various vegetables—carrots, tomatoes, and lettuce—to plant in their gardens. Strategic placement is essential, as vegetables must be adjacent to others of the same type.
• Dynamic Market Mechanism: The game features a market that fluctuates based on the dice selected. The last die remaining in each round determines which vegetable's market value increases, influencing players' planting decisions.
• Pig Power Mechanic: If players cannot plant a selected die, they can feed it to their pig, marking off circles on their pig sheet. Completing a row unlocks a "Pig Power," allowing players to adjust future dice rolls, adding a layer of strategic depth.

Gameplay Overview:

• Setup: Each player receives a scorepad and pencil. The starting player rolls all nine dice, creating a pool from which players will draft.
• Drafting Phase: Players take turns selecting one die at a time from the pool. They can choose to plant the corresponding vegetable in their garden or feed it to their pig if planting isn't feasible. The position of planting is determined by the die's value and color.
• Market Adjustment: After all dice have been drafted, the last remaining die dictates which vegetable's market value increases, affecting future planting decisions.
• Endgame and Scoring: The game concludes when a player completes all rows in their garden or when any vegetable's market value reaches six. Players then calculate their scores based on the vegetables planted, completed rows, and any bonuses from Pig Powers.
