Imhotep

Imhotep is a strategic board game designed by Phil Walker-Harding, suitable for 2 to 4 players aged 10 and above. Set in ancient Egypt, players assume the roles of master builders competing to construct monumental structures and earn the favour of the pharaoh. The game is played over six rounds, each offering unique challenges and opportunities.

Objective:

The primary goal is to accumulate the most victory points by constructing various monuments, including pyramids, temples, burial chambers, and obelisks. Players achieve this by transporting stone blocks to different construction sites and strategically unloading them to maximise their points.

Gameplay Overview:

Each round, players can perform one of the following actions:

• Quarry Stones: Acquire up to three stones from the quarry and add them to your reserve.
• Load Stones onto a Boat: Place one of your stones onto one of the available boats.
• Dispatch a Boat to a Monument: Send a boat to a construction site, unloading stones in a specific order to construct or enhance a monument.
• Play a Market Card: Use a previously acquired market card to gain special abilities or advantages.

The game concludes after six rounds, with players tallying their points from the completed monuments to determine the winner.

• 5 Monument boards (representing different construction sites)
• 1 Scoreboard
• 8 Ship tokens
• 21 Channel cards
• 34 Market cards
• 4 Reserve tiles in different colours
• 120 Stone blocks in four colours
