Board Game Spectacular

The Spectacular is an exciting board game of strategy where players take on the role of wildlife park managers dedicated to the preservation of vulnerable species. Your goal is to create and develop your park, ensuring the reproduction of species in suitable habitats.

During the game, players choose animal tiles and dice, which represent food for the animals. The color of the dice must match the habitat color of the animal tiles. Each round demands critical decisions, as you must choose whether to take a die of a specific value or an animal tile that might not be available again. At the end of the game, you score points for each area of connected tiles of the same habitat, based on the sum of the dice of that color. However, points are only awarded if the dice values are 1 or 2 and are placed on specific "family" tiles within the habitat. Additionally, you can build observatories, which provide points for the three adjacent dice. The aim is also to collect as many different species as possible, earning increasing points for greater variety. The player with the most points at the end of the game is declared the winner.

Spectacular offers simultaneous play, ensuring player interaction as opponents' decisions affect available tiles and dice. The game features asymmetric player boards, providing unique strategies and increased replayability. With simple rules, quick setup, and short gameplay duration, Spectacular is perfect for 1 to 6 players, aged 10 and up, with an average game time of 20-30 minutes. It was created by Eilif and Åsmund Svensson and released by Chilifox Games in 2025.
