Board Game Saltfjord

The Saltfjord is a strategic board game for 1 to 4 players, lasting 45–90 minutes, designed for ages 14 and up. Created by Eilif Svensson and Kristian Amundsen Østby, with illustrations by Yan Moussu and Peter Bartels, it is released by Aporta Games.

The game places players in a Norwegian fishing village at the end of the 19th century, where they are tasked with developing their settlement through building construction, fishing, trading, and technological advancements. The goal is to accumulate the most victory points after three rounds.

The Saltfjord is based on dice selection mechanics similar to those in "Santa Maria", but redesigned and expanded with new elements. Players roll dice to activate rows or columns on their board, triggering the corresponding buildings. They can construct new buildings or upgrade existing ones, send boats for fishing, complete trade orders, and advance on technology tracks for special abilities such as ship upgrades.

The game includes variable setup elements, such as special abilities and final scoring tiles, offering high replayability and different experiences in each playthrough.
