Board Game Puerto Rico 1897

The Puerto Rico 1897 is a refreshed version of the classic strategic board game, set in the year 1897 when Puerto Rico gained political autonomy and moved away from colonial Spanish rule. Players take on the role of independent Puerto Rican farmers, competing to hire workers, cultivate, sell, and trade valuable crops, as well as develop the country's urban infrastructure. The goal is to acquire more wealth and prestige than your opponents, becoming the most prosperous farmers in the region.

The game retains the elegant mechanics of the original while offering a new narrative for everyone to enjoy. This edition includes four expansions: "New Buildings," "Citizens" (formerly "Nobles"), "Smugglers" (formerly "Pirates"), and "Festival." The Puerto Rico 1897 is perfect for 2 to 5 players aged 12 and up, with a gameplay duration of approximately 90-120 minutes. It includes 6 boards, 50 goods, 100 workers, 20 nobles, 5 ships, 51 doubloons, 58 tiles, 50 victory point tokens, 10 role cards, 92 building tiles, and 1 rulebook.
