7 Wonders (2nd Edition): Edifice is an expansion for the acclaimed board game 7 Wonders, designed by Antoine Bauza. This expansion introduces communal construction projects, known as Edifices, adding a new layer of strategy and interaction among players.

Key Features:

• Communal Edifices: Players can choose to participate in the construction of Edifices during the game. These large-scale projects require collective effort, and players who contribute can earn rewards upon completion. However, if an Edifice is not completed by the end of the Age, contributors face no penalties, while non-contributors may suffer consequences.
• New Wonders: The expansion introduces two new Wonder boards:
• Ur : Exclusive to the Edifice expansion, offering unique abilities related to Edifice participation.
• Carthage: Compatible with both the base game and the Edifice expansion, providing additional strategic options.
• Additional Components: The expansion includes:
• 15 Edifice cards representing different communal projects.
• 24 Participation pawns to track player involvement in Edifice construction.
• 15 Debt tokens to manage potential penalties.
• 12 Military Conflict tokens and 3 Coins worth 6 to enhance game dynamics.A score pad to assist in tallying victory points.
  

Gameplay Overview:

During each Age, players have the option to participate in the construction of an Edifice by paying the required cost and placing a Participation pawn on the Edifice card. If enough players contribute, the Edifice is completed, and contributors receive rewards. If not, non-contributors may face penalties, such as losing victory points or incurring debt. This mechanic introduces new strategic decisions, as players must weigh the benefits of collaboration against the risks of non-participation.

Compatibility:

The Edifice expansion is compatible with both the original and 2020 editions of 7 Wonders, as well as all previous expansions, including Leaders, Cities, and Armada. It does not add extra playtime to games and creates interaction between players without adding extra complexity to the rules.
