Forbidden Desert

Forbidden Desert is a cooperative board game designed by Matt Leacock and published by Gamewright Games in 2013. Serving as a thematic sequel to Forbidden Island, it challenges 2 to 5 players, aged 10 and above, to work together to recover a legendary flying machine buried deep within the ruins of an ancient desert city.

Gameplay Overview:

• Objective: Players must locate and assemble four parts of the flying machine and then reach the launch pad to escape the desert.
• Roles: Each player assumes a unique role with special abilities, such as the Archaeologist, Climber, Explorer, Meteorologist, Navigator, or Water Carrier, which influence their actions and strategies.
• Actions: During their turn, players can perform up to four actions, including moving, digging to remove sand markers, collecting airship parts, or excavating tiles to reveal hidden resources.
• Challenges: The game introduces a dynamic storm system that shifts the board and buries tiles under sand, creating obstacles. Players must manage their water levels to prevent dehydration and avoid being buried by the shifting sands.
