Το Sail of Glory είναι μια σειρά παιχνιδιών που αναδημιουργούν ναυμαχίες κατά την την εποχή 1650-1815. Με βάση το σύστημα παιχνιδιού που χρησιμοποιείται στο Wings of Glory (πρώην Wings of War), το Sails of Glory χρησιμοποιεί μινιατούρες, κάρτες και μηχανισμούς επιτραπέζιων παιχνιδιών, με μία ειδική τράπουλα καρτών «Ελιγμού» που αντιπροσωπεύουν τις διαφορετικές δυνατότητες κίνησης κάθε σκάφους. Το παιχνίδι υποστηρίζεται από μια σειρά ζωγραφισμένων και συναρμολογημένων 1/1000 μινιατούρων.

English Description

 

The Mahonesa class was a class of Spanish 5th–rate frigates, armed with 34 cannons and part of the “Armada Real”. Often considered the best frigates in the Spanish Navy, they had a designed crew of around 280, and were armed with 26 12–Pounder guns in the lower deck and 8 6–Pounder guns in the upperdeck.

 

The Santa Monica – aka Mahonesa – was the first of a series of 6 frigates of 34 guns, built in the Minorcan port of Mahón, and had as her first service the transport of troops of Mallorca. This ship performed various services along the Mediterranean sea, and took part to French Revolutionary Wars until she was captured by the HMS Terpsichore on October 13, 1796 on the Cape of Gata, after a fight of three hours with 21 dead crewmen.

 

This ship pack can also be used to represent the Spanish Mahonesa class frigate “Ninfa 1795”.

In each pack you will find all you need to play the ship: a special base with gaming stats, a ship log and, a special deck of maneuver cards. The ship base, ship card and ship log are printed on two sides — the game data of a second ship is printed on the back.
