Hundreds of miles from the Shire, Frodo Baggins stands at the water's edge, gazing west. His thoughts turned inward, Frodo does not hear the sounds of battle among the trees on the slopes behind him, where his friends fight to buy his escape from the relentless Uruk-hai. Only now, in the heavy stillness of this strange place, so far from home, does he understand how truly alone he is.
